Mayhem at Krofrom as Trailer Involves in an Accident in Kumasi

Report gathered by OBR Media in Kumasi in the Ashanti region has indicated that road users at Krofrom near the traffic light have escaped death narrowly when a trailer with registration number AW 315 Z loaded with some foreign materials veered off the road.
Some of the items loaded in the truck included cooking oil, gallons of diesels, butter, engine oil, metals and other valuables.
The vehicle which was heading towards Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso from the Tema habour blocked the krofroum – Suame roundabout road causing heavy traffic around the area.
The incident which occurred around 5pm on Sunday evening June 19, 2020 compelled other vehicles from both directions to use a single lane to ease traffic.
The Suame and the Tafo Pankrono Divisional police commands were on hand to bring the traffic situation under control by moving the heavy truck from the road with the help of Road Safety organizations to ensure the flow of traffic on the main road.
Eyewitnesses called on government to as a matter of emergency address the challenges confronting the road to reduce rampant accidents on that stretch of road.
The driver of the tipper truck, Mr. Akwesi Boateng who spoke to OBR Media said the incident occurred when one tyre of the truck burst after the turning table of the truck got dislocated to the accident.
The CEO of OBR, Mr. Richard Karikari called on government and authorities to help reduce accidents on our highways.
