Report gathered by OBR Media in Kumasi has indicated that a mini truck with registration number AS-3572-W on Wednesday 29th July 2020 nearly crushed some traders at the SDA Junction at Asawase in the Asokre Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti region after trying to negotiate a sharp curve on the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Junction road at Asawase at about 10: 45 am on the road.
The mini truck which was carrying some bags of rice believed to be foreign being transported from the Asawase market direction heading towards opposite the Manhyia Roundabout junction when the accident occurred after it felt on the rollover after failing a brake.
The untimely incident nearly caused the demise of a bicycle rider who was also using the same road to the Manhyia Roundabout direction of the road.
The Chief Executive Officer of Oli Best Road Safety Organization, Mr. Richard Karikari who was at the accident scene to supervise activities cautioned motorists and drivers in the area.
Speaking to the Coordinator of the Asokre Mampong Municipality National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Mr. Augustine Joe Debrah who narrated the cause of the accident also appealed to motorists to be mindful when using the road.
According to him, motor accidents cases in the Municipality keeps alarming as a result of reckless driving on the road and cautioned pedestrians and drivers to make use of the road signs mounted beside the road to save lives and properties.
