Report gathered by OBR media in Kumasi indicates that a Bamako bound trailer with registration number GS 2913-13 from Tema was on Saturday June 18, 2020 involved in an accident after the truck veered off the road into a nearby garage at Krofroum in Kumasi.
The incident which occurred around 10pm at Plaza Junction towards the Krofrom traffic light held up many vehicles in traffic as a result of the blockade caused by the accident, which destroyed a fence wall, electric pole, high tension pole, sign posts and cars that were parked along the road side.
An eyewitness said the driver of the trailer who sustained minor injuries was rushed to the Manhyia government hospital where he was treated and later discharged.
The airport district police command which moved quickly to contain the situation to ease jammed traffic, has begun investigations into the matter.
The CEO of OBR who doubles as deputy director of the NRSA Ashanti region, Mr. Richard Karikari who was at the scene advised against parking of vehicles along the road to avoid loss of lives.
