KUMASI: POTHOLE CAUSES FATAL ACCIDENT AT KROFROM CPC
September 14, 2020Report gathered by Oli Best Road-Safety (OBR) Organization in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region has indicated that some commercial motorists and road users along the Alaabar-Asawase stretch continue to violate some road safety regulations in the area.
Research conducted by the organization indicates that close to hundreds of vehicles and particularly motorists violate and do not adhere to the road safety protocols on the road leading to these areas.
The situation has led to alarming accident cases in the area between pedestrians, motorists and drivers in the area which is noted as a hub for traders in the municipality.
According to OBR reporters who visited the scene indicated that their activities if not been checked can lead to possible accidents on that particular stretch within the municipality where business activities is at its peak.
Our reporters who were at the Aboabo Lorry Station to check the activities of these private and commercial motorists said most of the traders along the road have also been a major problem to motorists in the area.
During the visit to the scene, our reporters noticed that portions of the road have been earmarked for business activities by these traders and beggars forcing drivers and motorists using part of the road.
According to some officials of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) who were present to ensure easy flow of traffic in the area advised motorists and urged them to practice all the necessary safety protocols to ensure accident free.
