
KUMASI: POTHOLE CAUSES FATAL ACCIDENT AT KROFROM CPC
September 14, 2020The Ashanti Regional Police Commander of the Motor Traffic Transport Department (MTTD) under the Ghana Police Service (GPS), Supt. Emmanuel Adu Boahen has paid a one day working visit to Oli Best Road Safety (OBR) Organization on Tuesday 15-09-2020 in Kumasi.
The visit form part of the measures by his command in engaging stakeholders both private and public in reducing accident cases particularly in the Asawase Municipality where accidents (motor cases) continue to increase.
He commended the Organization for its hard works and relent effort by the staff in partnering with the personnel of the Police Service (MTTD) in reducing accident cases in the region.
He called for drastic measures in educating school children and religious leaders and commended the organization for introducing ‘’Road Safety Education’’ among school children in the region which has yield positive results.
He urged other road safety institutions and organizations to partner with the Police (MTTD) to help educate the general public about the dangers of accident on our roads.
He condemned the recent accident which occurred at Kyekyewere on the Accra-Suhum highway where 14 were killed and 80 passengers also got injured in a bus. He later advised road users (pedestrians, drivers and riders) to be careful when using the road.
The Ashanti Regional Police Commander of the MTTD of the GPS, Supt. Emmanuel Adu Boahen made this known after inspecting some of the facilities owned by the organization for accident prevention in the region.
