The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Oli Best Road Safety Organization, Mr. Richard Karikari (KK) has called on government and the Engineers at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to re-design the Kejetia Central Market Project underpass to ease traffic and human activities around the project.
According to him, the project site has been considered as one of the prime areas when it comes to accidents particularly within the metropolis and called for adequate measures to curb the menace.
He called on the Urban Road Directorate under the Ghana Highways Authority (GHA) to construct speed ramps to curtail commercial drivers in the area to reduce speeding.
He again urged the Metro police service in the metropolis to arrest and prosecutes wrong drivers and unauthorized trading along the area in order to prevent the alarming accidents.
In an exclusive interview with OBR Radio in Kumasi, he called on the City Authorities (KMA) to vacate the traders from the pavements to allow human and vehicular movements.
He added that research conducted by his organization indicates that the area will record more casualties if care is not taken to minimize the rate of accidents in the area where cars and human battle for space.
The CEO for Oli Best Road Safety Organization, Mr. Richard Karikari (KK) made this known when he inspected the area to recommend to the City Authorities some measures to curb the high rate of accidents around the project site which is still under construction for the second phase.
